5 Fun Holiday Food Games for 2020

Whether you live at home with a partner, a family, or by yourself, stay connected with friends and family this season. Food is a HUGE part of our cultures and our holidays. Keep the festive food spirit going this holiday season and stay connected with these fun food games below!

1. Chopped: Home Edition

Have someone challenge you (and vis versa) to create a meal with four random food items, just like they do on the Food Network show Chopped. Bonus if they’re holiday themed foods! Get creative and daring with your cooking and plating – and maybe a little brave when it comes to tasting! Whether you do this in your household or challenge loved ones over video calls, be sure to take pictures and record reactions for lasting memories!

2. Virtual Cook-a-Long (or Drink-a-Long)

Gather your group of besties virtually and have everyone prepare the same:

  • festive dish

  • holiday cookies to decorate and/or

  • specialty cocktail safely at home.

Bonus if you combine it with a Secret Santa gift exchange (facilitated by one appointed friend or a trusted third party!)

Cheers to the season [virtually] together!

3. Initials Food Challenge

Have each person in your group (works best with 2-3 people) pick a letter. Someone else then chooses and writes down a food that starts with that letter. Then you reveal the foods chosen and must work together to figure out and prepare a unique meal using those chosen foods!

Get ready to try some creative new food combinations and flavor pairings!

4. Candy Canes

It’s just like the card game Spoons, but with a tastier tool!

5. Holiday Movie Meals

Be honest – you can’t resist the Hallmark holiday movie specials. Pick your favorites and make some of the holiday meals, snacks, and drinks prepared in the shows to eat while you watch!

But good luck finding Who Hash and Roast Beast at the grocery store.

The holidays are certainly different this year, but I wish you all mountains of healthy, heart-filled holiday cheer! Comment with your favorite holiday games and new traditions below!

Namaste always.
